Montrosians celebrated their commitment to life at the recent Massachusetts Citizens for Life (MCFL) Annual Banquet. Eleven members of the Montrose Respect Life club attended the banquet, and several had the opportunity to meet the evening’s keynote speaker, Lila Rose.
Elle Schirripa ’15, Lindsay Lombardo ’15, Sarah Baker ’15, Monica Stack ’15, Claire Gerwatowski ’15, Jen Cochran ’16, Sylvia Conte ’16, Liz O’Neil ’16, Charlotte Flatley ’16, Hannah Ford ’16 and Maggie Irwin ’16 all were among approximately 500 attendees at the MCFL banquet. The sold-out event supported MCFL and its mission to defend life from conception to natural death.
The evening’s highlight was the keynote speaker, Lila Rose, Founder and President of LiveAction. LiveAction specializes in investigative journalism, media and youth education to expose abuses in the abortion industry. Ms. Rose, just twenty-five years old, gave credit to attendees at a pro-life event in Massachusetts, which she described as the most liberal state in the country, yet with a growing movement for life. Calling her own generation “the most pro-life generation yet,” she inspired those in attendance with her message of life as the basic human right for all.
Several of the Montrose students took the opportunity to meet Ms. Rose after the dinner. All commented how excited they were to speak with her and how inspired by her message.
