Montrose senior participates in competitive mathematics contest at MIT.
Montrose senior Ghee Rye Lee's outstanding scores on the American Mathematics Examination earned her an invitation to compete in the prestigious Math Prize for Girls contest at MIT in Cambridge, MA on September 17, 2011. 276 girls from across the United States and Canada participated in this invitation-only competition.
An annual competition for high school girls, Math Prize for Girls is sponsored by the Advantage Testing Foundation, whose goal is to encourage young women with exceptional potential to become the mathematical and scientific leaders of tomorrow.
Veteran math teacher Mrs. Sue Leist, who runs the American Mathematics Exam program at Montrose and accompanied Ghee at the competition, as well as all of the faculty and staff at Montrose are proud of Ghee's accomplishments and excellent performance at this competitive event.
