Middle School Students Visit Vermont

Incoming middle school students get to know one another on the annual orientation trip.
In June, twenty-one incoming middle school students journeyed to Randolph, Vermont with middle and upper school Admissions Ambassadors, for an orientation trip to welcome the new students.

The upper school students led the new girls in activities that gave them the opportunity to get to know one another, learn about Montrose traditions and ask questions about being a Montrosian.  The two-night trip provided an opportunity for new students to make new friends and have some fun together.  “The girls traveled, talked, played games, made meals together, toured the Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory and ate ice cream, of course!” said Sarah Hills, Assistant Director of Admissions, who supervised the trip. They swam, enjoyed a movie and popcorn, and hiked Quechee Gorge before heading home.

The annual trip is an exceptional opportunity for girls to meet and interact in a fun and relaxed environment.  “The Vermont trip is a great way to get to know, not only your own new classmates, but also girls in the whole middle school,” said a past participant.  “It really helps you feel like you are already a part of Montrose.”
