Montrose Ski Club Offers Winter Fun

Skiers and snowboarders, middle school and upper school, enjoy Ski Club opportunities.
Winter Friday afternoons bring a flurry of excitement to Montrose, as girls change into ski clothes, board a bus and head to Wachusett Mountain for an evening of skiing, snowboarding and friendship.

Now in its fifth season, the Montrose Ski Club offers skiers and snowboarders of all experience levels an opportunity for some fresh air, fitness and fun.  For those who are new to the slopes or want to improve their technique, lessons are offered each Friday. Ski Club welcomes all girls in middle and upper school. Faculty member Ms. Kristen Blabac oversees the trips, accompanied by parent chaperones.

“Montrose Ski Club is great for someone who has never skied before,” said Mackenzie Young ’16. “You can just try it out and have fun with your friends.” More experienced skiers love the opportunity to ski regularly with friends. “I love skiing partway down the mountain, stopping for a snack and to hang out with friends, and then finishing the run,” said Hannah Ford ’16.

Members of the Ski Club are anticipating two day-long trips this winter, which coincide with days off from school.  For these longer trips, the girls head off to Waterville Valley Resort in New Hampshire for a full day of skiing and fun.
